The momentous discovery that "19" is the common denominator of the
 Mathematical Miracle of the Quran became a reality in
January, 1974.
This was coinciding with Zul-Hijjah 1393 A.H. The Quran was revealed
  in 13 B.H. (Before Hijrah). This makes the number of years from the
 revelation of the Quran to the discovery of its miracle (in 1974),
  1393+13=1406 years. It was more than interesting to notice that
 1406 = 19 X 74.

Mecca stampede.
   About 250 Muslims who had come to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on a religious pilgrimage were killed in a stampede. The worshipers were moving toward a cavern for a ritual called the stoning of the devil. The people were jammed together on a pedestrian overpass at Mina, outside Mecca, when a new surge of people moved toward them. Those on the overpass were too confined to move away quickly. Some observers said the death toll could be as high as 1,000. This was the worst such incident in Mecca since 1990, when a similar stampede killed 1,426 pilgrims. After the 1990 tragedy the Saudi government spent millions of dollars to build tunnels and overpasses to avoid a similar occurrence.
